Security advice - prevent burglaries and break-ins ...
Make sure you fit strong locks to all doors and windows
If you're fitting new doors and windows, make sure they comply with British Standard BS7950 (windows) or PAS 24-1 (doors)
Always activate your alarm - even if you're only going out for a few minutes
Make sure your shed, garage or outbuildings are secure if they contain expensive tools and equipment
If you have an alarm system, make sure it's in good working order by having it regularly maintained
Old bell boxes can give the impression your alarm system doesn't work - consider having them replaced
